Break the Addiction

From the Open Heavens TEENS Devotional Review for September 9th 2020.

Today’s topic: Break the Addiction

Text: Romans 6:16 “Don’t you realize that grace frees you to choose your own master? But choose carefully, for you surrender yourself to become a servant—bound to the one you choose to obey. If you choose to love sin, it will become your master, and it will own you and reward you with death. But if you choose to love and obey God, he will lead you into perfect righteousness.”

As earlier discussed, Addictions are things you can’t do without. These addictions may start up as innocent habits but are eventually sponsored by spirits.

How do I break free

As we said, Addictions is spiritual. Breaking from an addiction involves coming into partnership with a stronger spirit, according to Mark 3:27

Asking God for help is the first step to breaking free. He will surely hear and guide you out of it. Follow his guide in his word and don’t give room for the opportunity to present itself.

Prayer: Father I ask for help to permanently break free from every addiction.

Grace and peace to you as you grow in the knowledge of God

Welcome to the open Heavens TEENS Devotional Review for August 21st 2020

Today’s Topic: CLIMBING UP
1 Samuel 17: 33-37
Text Highlight;
1 Samuel 17:36-37 I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this heathen Philistine too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! The Lord who saved me from the claws and teeth of the lion and the bear will save me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented, “All right, go ahead,” he said, “and may the Lord be with you!”

David was a teenager who stood out of his peers. He was the only one among His age group who went to the Warfield and he eventually conquered a huge problem for Israel, Goliath the Giant.

When faced with different life goals/challenges there are some characters you have to exhibit one of which is DILIGENCE
To be successful in your goal, you’ll have to be diligent.
Proverbs 22:29 says
Do you know a hard-working man? He shall be successful and stand before kings!
(The Living Bible)

That’s what made David stand before the King of Israel.

He said to the King,
“I have killed the lion and the bear, this philistine will fall like them”
David had been taking care of his Father’s animald practiced his skills of warfare and when it was time to deliver, He did so

If you want to be successful, pay attention to your skills be diligent and develop them.
As a student, The best person in your class had a secret/success strategy if yours is not working, find out why and ask God to give you a better one.
When he does, follow it with diligence.

Savoury Salt.
Matthew 5:14
Jesus compared you and I to salt.

Salt’s value is seen when is not eaten alone.
Your value as a Child of God will be seen around others. Salt brings out the beauty of other ingredients making the whole meal sweet.
Never place so much emphasis on yourself.

Salt also preserves. By your words you can preserve. You don’t have to use so much salt to cook. Likewise, you don’t have to talk too much you may not be many Christains in a class/school/neighborhood but you can influence others through your prayers and YOUR WORDS. You preserve others.

Let your words be with grace that it may edify(build up) the hearers.(Ephesians 5:29)
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Open Heavens Teens Review for July 27th 2020

Good morning with God’s Love.
Welcome to another Open Heavens teens devotional Review, (27th July 2020)

Today we are looking at A VERY PRESENT HELP
Psalm.27.5 – For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.(The Rock is Jesus)

People today want to feel safe at work, school, home and in the midst of these times, there’s an information that is important for you to know.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge, an very present help in time of trouble.

Ps.27.1 – The LORD is my light and my salvation–so why should I be afraid? The LORD protects me from danger–so why should I tremble?

Ps.27.2 – When evil people come to destroy me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.

Ps.27.3 – Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will know no fear. Even if they attack me, I remain confident.

As belivers, God being our refuge assures of security any day anytime. You don’t have to be afraid of anything

“the Lord is my shepherd , I shall not want. (Psalm 23)

Are you the Lord’s sheep?
This security was promised to anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus, that person will be saved and given this testimony of the Righteous
“IT SHALL BE WELL” Isaiah 3:10

Belive and trust God for you life. For God is the strength of my Life, I will not be afraid of what man can do. (Psalm 27:1-2)

Open Heavens Teens Devotional Review July 6th 2020

Grace peace and Welcome to an Online Review for July 6th 2020

SUCCESS STRATEGY REQUIRED
1 Corinthians 9:25-27

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and BRING FORTH FRUIT, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

In the beginning, God spoke to man and said,
… let them have dominion over … the earth…_Be fruitful…
(Genesis 1:26&28)

Also from the text we see that Jesus called us as Believers to be successful in the Christian Journey.

But we need to realise since we are victors, we also need a strategy to ensure the victory is seen in the Earth. So a Man called Paul wrote,

1 Corinthians 9:26-27 For that reason, I don’t run just for exercise or box like one throwing aimless punches, but I train like a champion athlete. I subdue my body and get it under my control,… so that after preaching the good news to others I myself won’t be disqualified.

You have to be disciplined to be successful in the God given task ahead of you
Like Jesus would, don’t just do things anyhow but trust and obey the Holy Spirit and make Decisions that will bring you closer to the goal in your heart.

Key Point: Allow the Holy Spirit guides you to make plans for whatever you want to achieve and stick with it.
